Air Experience Flights.

Our Cadets first experiences in the air with the Royal Air Force Air Cadets is often with one of the RAF’s 12 Air Experience Flights. For Beccles Cadets this is usually at RAF Cranwell, or occasionally RAF Wittering. You will be flown by current or former RAF Pilots, shown how the Aircraft flies before taking the controls for yourself. You will also be given the opportunity to experience the thrill of aerobatic flying and see the world upside down!

Glider Induction Course.

The start of of the Royal Air Force Air Cadets glider training is the Glider Induction Course(GIC). This follows similar path to Air Experience flights, except the gliders do not have an engine and are launched using a winch. You will be given up to 5 flights in order to progress though the GIC during which you will be shown how to control the glider safely and effectively. You will of course, be given the opportunity to fly the glider yourself

The Sky Is The Limit.

If you have shown aptitude for flying, then you can apply for a range of different scholarships. We offer the Air Cadet Pilot scheme which will give you further training which can be used towards a Private Pilots Licence, The Air Cadet Pilot Navigation scheme, which will give you in depth knowledge of how to navigate in the air and The Gliding Scholarship, which takes place at one of the volunteer gliding schools through the UK, over a succession of weekends, or over a week long residential course. By the end of which you could have achieved your first solo glider flight.

And if that’s not enough, you may also be given the opportunity to fly in one of the aircraft currently in service with the RAF.
